In June of 2000, a group of young people attended a Tonasket City Council meeting and requested that the city do something positive for the youth of Tonasket, and build a skatepark. The city council was supportive, but because of financial reasons, they declined. The council did, however, give the young people encouragement to raise enough funds to build the park themselves. With that in mind, B3 Skatepark Project was created, and a handful of dedicated young people took on an often times overwhelming task of raising enough money to build a skatepark. Jerry Allstot was one of those young people who approached the Tonasket City Council. In 2002, Jerry was working in Seattle, and had a life insurance policy at his place of employment. At the time of his death, Jerry’s family donated his life insurance to the Tonasket B3 Skate Park in his name.
